“New” Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU – mandatory from 19 July 2016
28.12.2016 Following its alignment to the New Legislative Framework (NLF), the new Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) comes into force on 19 July 2016 and thereby replaces the “old” PED 97/23/EC. Although this transition from the old to the new PED entails only very few practical changes, manufacturers need to be aware of some significant – mainly formal - modifications.

05.07.2016 The VDMA standard sheet published in June 2016 deals with the consideration of economic efficiency and partial CO2 footprint in the planning, project planning and tendering of evaporative cooling systems. It recommends parameters and the procedure for a corresponding calculation by manufacturers, planners, plant constructors and operators of recooling plants as a basis for decision-making for the selection of the optimum solution for the respective application.
Specialists’ draft of a directive for evaporative cooling systems has been presented
20.02.2016 The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety has introduced the draft of a directive on evaporative cooling systems and wet scrubbers (VerdunstKühlV) in January 2016.
